  Constructia lui incepe in 1967, la 23 mai 1971 fiind inaugurat. A fost proiectat de catre arhitectii: Dinu Hariton, Gheorghe Nadrag, I. Moscu si Romeo Stefan Belea. Are: 22 de etaje, 90 m inaltime, si apartament imperial, la etajul 19 (in 1979 aici s-au filmat scene din filmul "Nea Marin Miliardar"). Este prima cladire din Romania "pe role" si primul hotel de 5 stele din Romania.
