  • One of the highest points in Palakkad district(after the peaks in Silent Valley, Parambikkulam and Nelliyampathi) with an altitude of 814 meters. Although the figure won't amuse you, the peak stands straight above the surroundings so that it is more dangerous to conquer it than Anamudi(2695 m-Highest peak in South India). Nipple hill is clearly visible from Palakkad town, Palakkad Junction Railway station and NSS College of Engineering, Akakthethara. The beautiful name was coined by our creative ancestors from NSS college which is lying perfectly on the lap of the hill. Hax Nirvana (2006-10 EEE batch) climbed the hills in this area many times and flagged the nipple tip 2 times. Although you can trek without the fear of leeches, many threats are awaiting you there especially when you advance to the tit end. One of our senior had lost his life while trekking the hill. I also met death face-to-face many times especially because I chose the most steepy, slippy, adventurous and dangerous northern side of the peak instead of the easier southern side for climbing. I strongly believe that I am the only person who have conquered the peak by climbing from the northern side. The hill resembles the tit tip as the imaginative name implies. The area surrounding the hill is under the temple located at the meadow of the hill. (Written by Hax Nirvana.)
