One of two Alert Pads at Minot Air Force Base, the North Alert Pad is a standard SAC-era "Christmas Tree" design which serves as the primary Alert Status ramp for B-52H Stratofortresses and crews of the 5th Bomb Wing. Aircraft staged on the Alert Pad are fully fueled, armed and mission-ready and can be manned and airborne in a matter of minutes.
