Residence designed c. 1929 by Delano & Aldrich in the Georgian style with landscaping by Olmsted for Beverly Duer {financier, industrialist}. Duer served as member of Guaranty Trust Co. and also served as a trustee of the Village of Laurel Hollow.

The estate was later purchased by William Rogers Deering {capitalist, artist} who renamed the estate "Roseneath". Deering was a theatrical producer known for co-producing such works as 'Out of the Frying Pan' (1940) and 'Thirteen O'Clock' (1941). Since 1988, the estate has been owned by Owen Telfair Smith.
