Dragizhevo village, Lyaskovets municipality.
This is a large village with a major population. It is excellently placed for travelling to either Gorna or Veliko for leisure or shopping, being just 50 metres off the main E772 Sofia to Varna route. There are plenty of local shops and there is a post office in the village. The village has excellent road links and both landline and mobile phone facilities, and mains water, electricity and sewerage system, and local bus services. There is continuing development in the area with many people from other parts of europe purchasing and building their homes here. I am Scottish and have purchased a house in the village. The better option is to knock down the old house and outbuildings and rebuild from scratch as the existing houses are likely to be dangerous due to age and bad building materials (mainly timber and sun dried mud bricks and not baked clay bricks. The mud brick walls are often plastered over to prevent water damage. This gives the false impression that the walls are built of bricks. Often the timber has dry and wet rot setting in. People often plant fruit trees near the main walls whose roots damage the house foundations cracking walls which are covered up by plastering rather than rebuilding damaged walls. Internally the mud brick walls are often covered up with wallpaper, as plastering is costly. Your and your family's safety is paramount so check carefully if you are purchasing any home and intend living in it or renovating it, as estate agents are often recommending this for bigger profits for their builders company as little new materials will be used and faults will be plastered over.
