This prestigious and premiere Club was established by Sir R.N. Mukherjee in 1907 and it celebrated its Centenary year in 1906-07. Unlike other contemporary clubs, it had the unique distinction of admitting the British and Indian on equal footing and the eligibility of membership was never based on race, politics and creed.
