This is 3 km long flyover connecting park circus with race course and is the second flyover of Calcutta.
A very unique photo is attached, you see how sunlight falls straight under the flyover throgh the small gap between the up and down lanes of the flyover, on a day near summer solstice.

  • Its sad that the description has to emphasize that calcuttas calling card is its 2nd flyover in as many years.. but yes it is also true that it is the longest in eastern india and one of the longest in india.. length is actually 2.1 km. and interestingly the flyover was built by L&T about 4 yrs ago and still feels new and add to that L&T took just 3 months extra for the completion even though they halted work for 6 months on account of faulty KMC drawings of the sewer drains..
