The church is the only church situated on the right bank of the Tundzha River, with a separate belfry located east of it. The church was built of granite stones glued with mortar over the ruins of an older church. In the kettledrum of the window is hidden a marble plate with a relief carving and an inscription: “1842 March 25 Restored was the church and in the name of our Holy Anastasius…”. The date marks the erection of the church by master Stoyo from Bratsigivo Town.
