This brick five-story building was constructed in 1925-1926 for co-operative society of «Labour chemists». It is one of the first housing co-operatives of Moscow. It was planned as a communal house with a general dining room, a laundry etc.
In the late twenties the well known physicist, I.E.Tamm (1895-1971), who later won the Nobel prize winner in physics (1958), resided here.
