This is the only church in Jämtland that survives from the seventeenth century. The delightful, simple wooden building has a characteristic seperate belfry. The bell tower, created in the eighteenth century, was so admired that it was copied exactly and reconstructed in Skansen, Stockholm at the end of the nineteenth century. The church has an altarpiece and pulpit that date from around the time of the church’s foundation. There is also a medieval triumphal crucifix here, inherited from an earlier church in the area.
