Population 926 (2006 census). Osler was founded in 1892 along the historic Qu'Appelle, Long Lake and Saskatchewan Railroad. It was named for railway survey engineer Edmund Osler. It became a village in 1904, but by 1918 it had reverted to a hamlet. It regained village status in 1968, and became a town in 1985. It is currently experiencing rapid growth as a bedroom community of Saskatoon.
