The construction of this building occurred at different times: the first two floors were built in the first quarter of the 19th century, the third was added in 1884.

The year after the reconstruction in 1884, a women's gymnasium for children from noble families moved here. In 1906 the female grammar school passed to M.G. Brjuhonenko; in this premise studied Maria I. Tsvetaeva and V.V. Kholodnaya; in 1910 the grammar school relocated to Stolov Lane.

Singer A. V. Nezhdanova resided in apartment #18 from 1913-1935. There is a plaque on the house.
