The Bruceton Research Center is a federal government site at which four laboratories are located:

• the Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory

Over a thousand government and contractor employees work at the Center.

The roughly 200-acre research site was formerly the U.S. Bureau of Mines Bruceton Experimental Station, which was established in 1910 to study and promote mine safety.
