military, navy, warship, destroyer (ship), training center
A Type 82 destroyer, the predecessor to the Type 42, which was planned to escort the CVA-01 aircraft carriers that were cancelled due to funding problems and inter-Service rivalries. She now serves as a training ship and accommodation ship for Royal Naval personnel and youth organisations. Many young people from the Sea Cadets, the Combined Cadet Force and the Sea Scouts have their first experience of life on board a warship on the Bristol.
