The village of Roztoka (formerly German Rohnstock) belonged to the Hochberg family from January 2 1497 until the Second World War. This palace was their seat in the village. It was built in the early sixteenth century and expanded in 1720 by Hans Heinrich III von Hochberg, who also redid the palace park.
After the Battle of Hohenfriedberg (4 June 1745) the Prussian king Frederick the Great stayed in this palace. Another modernization was carried out between 1868 and 1871. In 1890, the palace hosted the Kaiser Wilhelm II and the Austrian Emperor, Franz Joseph.
In the late 19th and early 20th century the palace was owned by the composer and organizer of the Silesian Music Festival, Hans Heinrich XIV Bolko von Hochberg.
The palace was confiscated by the Soviets, and the Hochbergs were not allowed to return after the war because Silesia was taken from Germany and given to Poland. The building was however restored in 1953. In the 1990s a private investor bought the palace, but soon went bankrupt, and the estate was foreclosed on.
