Part of the Residences for the Ministry of Finance (Moscow)

Russia / Moscow / Moscow / Nikitsky bulvar, 12
 interesting place, apartment building

High plastered seven-story house with a modest neoclassical facade facing the streets (Kalashny lane. 7). This apartment houses, built in 1914 for the Ministry of Finance, designed by architect Nilus. The main facade of the complex is directed towards Nikitsky Blvd. The most interesting thing architecturally is the insert between the buildings with a portico of half-columns, which successfully simulates the Empire-style mansion Moscow.

In the center of the building on the alley, where the first floor has more classical details - locks on windows, rusticated, pilasters on the portico, it is not old building, rather built the unfinished Church of St. Nicholas which was built for the inhabitants of the house but never consecrated.
