Here was once a appakkal thippai which means stone boulders in slates were filed.Quarry people quarried them for construction works.In midst of files of big stones eight antennae swords were found in 2000 AD.They are mould in copper combination Now they are in the below meaned museum.Prior to this findings during 1970s Archaeological department of Madras University excavated in two seasons and showed evidence of megalithic cultural evidences. Moreover, there are three hero stones are seen. One is the Pallava age which was buried in the odai during the continuous rain in 1996 west of the village deity temple. In the backyard of the house south of odai a hero stone was carved in seated pose. Underneath the pedestal a dog is shown. West of buried Pallava hero stone a 15th century AD hero stone in broken condition was found. West of excavated site a mortar in half broken with design was brought to the Government Museum, Vellore.M.GANDHI.
