park, polo ground
'Stick and ball' is the name given to the action of practicing polo outside of a competitive game. Members of Ham Polo Club use this area of Richmond Park to practice their swing and riding skills. Several players may use the area to practice at the same time. The polo season runs from May till September though players may come to the area earlier in the year in preparation for the season. Polo matches are played every sunday during the season at the main Ham Polo Club grounds and spectators and picnickers are welcome.
