The decency of many residents is maligned by such negative characterizations as: "A very well known block to heroin addicts who visit the city from outside of Baltimore. The one-way Brice St. looks like an open air drug market depending on police presence. This area has been mentioned on the HBO show "The Wire"."

  • This particular area is of great importance to Baltimore's future because it is very near the intersection of the MARC and the proposed Red Line. Efforts to develop this area as a major transit centered hub will not probably not succeed until the drugs and crime are addressed. That may take years.
