Large parish in the western Isle of Wight named after its stream. The church in the centre of Calbourne was established in 826. It features a brass portrait of an armoured knight with hands folded in prayer, resting his feet on a dog. Most residents live in Porchfield or Newtown in the north or Calbourne in the south. Calbourne Working Water Mill pre-1299 AD, Swainstone Manor Hotel, which used to be one of the Bishop of Winchester's Palaces and Thorness Bay holiday park are in the parish.
