Constructed between 1808-1814; named after the Battle of Iéna (French form of the German city of Jena), where Napoleon’s army defeated the Prussians.
In 1853, two sculptures were placed at either end of the bridge, representing on
•the right bank: a Gaul soldier and a Roman soldier
•the left bank: an Arab soldier and a Greek soldier
