This is the site of the cemetery of Dixmont State Hospital.

This is the only piece of property the state kept after selling the Dixmont land to Ralph Stroyne.

Over 1200 nameless, numbered grave stones of the patients who passed away here remain.

  • I have visited and can attest. It is so sad to see so many graves without names. As if these people were just forgotten. The records are actually available online however thanks to one woman's crusade to preserve the memory of these people.
