The Foundry opened in early 2007, but mostly closed the same year due to ground settling problems making the strip mall buildings unsafe. JC Penney opened in February and left in June, and reopened at its previous location at the Washington Mall in September 2007. Bed, Bath, & Beyond and Ross Dress for Less both closed their stores in late May 2007.

Currently Max & Erma's is the only legacy tenant remaining at The Foundry, but at a section of the property seemingly unaffected by the ground settling issues. An Olive Garden restaurant was recently built next to the Max & Erma's.

The Old Mill is taking the place of The Foundry, with a Field & Stream store announced as one of the anchor stores. Most of the buildings will be on the opposite side of the property from where the original buildings had ground settling problems.
