Badrashi is a village though not in a very strict sense. It is surrounded by Nowshera Cantonment on three sides. Infact Nowshera cantonment has been raised on the lands of this village. This village is a union council. It has a high school one for boys and one for girls each. There are two primary schools too, one for boys and the other for girls. In addition to that there are a bunch of private institutions as well that cater for the education of the children till primary and middle secondary levels. Residents of this village go to nearby Peshawar for higher education in the fields of medicine and engineering etc. Nowshera Cantt offers oppertunities of upto Bacherlors level education to both boys and girls.

Sons of the soil like Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, Haji Sher Afzal Khan, Haji Samandar Khan Samandar, Mian Akbar Shah, Mian Said Rasool Rasa brought Pride to this small village. It has a rich history and this soil has produced, Engineers, Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Beaurocrats, Army and Airforce Officers, Contractors and in all fields of life have brought glories to it. • Hello was reading your comment, its sad to see people grow apart. KB TM Khan was my grand father Noor Muhammad's elder brother..maybe you met him as well. I grew up in the same ancestral home but am now in the UK since 2003. Which part of india are you settled in, unfortunately our family lost property in Delhi as well as a part of partition.
  • Badrashi is not a 1000 years old not even 150 really..Badrashi was settled by our ancestors who were Afghan settlers who came as a part of the Afghan army to fight sikhs and were then left beind. Most afghan tribes settled in between the Khattak area in hills and Durrani/Yousafzai belt of Par Nowshera...they were at loggerheads hence the settlers got the land in between. The original Badrashi was near Manki Sharif (actually my great great grand father Malik Din Khan is buried there)...as time passed the river bed of the river Kabul shifted leaving the fertile land of Nowshera Cantonment and Badrashi for the taking so people moved from the hills to the plain which is now Badrashi and Nowshera Cantonment...it was agricultural land so our families moved to Badrashi..this was in the 1880s (oldest mosque in badrashi is from then) following this the British came in so made a new cantonment/city as their forward base. Original badrashi inhabitants are Akakhels, Sulemankhel and EssaKhel i.e. Ghalji tribesmen from the Afghan army - it was later settled by MIans of bahadur baba as the locals gave them land in sehra...Bahadur baba was kaka seb Hazrat Kasrat Guls father. Now badrashi is a mixture of all races and peoples due to its rapid expansion...
  • It is really nice to see the real family members talking about the ancestors. We should all come up with a blog or a detailed introduction of Badrashi and our family. I am the grand daughter of Khan Sardaraz Khan.
