Happy Valley Airstrip

USA / Alaska / Prudhoe Bay /

Happy Valley Airport (HVY). This is an unmaintained DOT runway intended for emergency purposes. The Sag river and trans-Alaska pipeline runs right next to it on the east. You can grab a scenic flight here when a bush pilot is available.

  • Wow, another posting marked as "abusive", even though it's factually correct. There are drawbacks to the "everyone can edit" schema. Bruised Ego is one of them, I guess. It's a shame that this mild form of censorship exists. I'm reposting for all to see without going through the trouble of clicking mboldenow's factually correct, well-worded comment. "This is actually an unmaintained, unmanaged State airstrip and gravel pad. No airport exists on site. During hunting season, the airstrip is busy with authorized guiding base camp operations. These operations are only open seasonally."
