The Huntley Generating Station was a coal-fired 380 megawatt steam electric generating facility located along the Niagara River. The first four power generation units, built in the 1940-50s, were taken offline in 2006-7. The final two power generation units, built in 1957-8, were retired and shut down on March 1, 2016. The power station was capable of resupply by either rail or ship. The facility was operated in its final years by NRG Energy before being shut down.
