Unincorporated village within Kodiak Island Borough, Alaska USA. The population was 39 as of 2009. The post office was first established in 1892.

Numerous archaeological sites in the area have revealed that the mouth of the Karluk River has been home to Natives for more than 7,000 years. In 1786, Russian fur traders settled in the area, and the site grew over the next century to be the largest cannery operation in the world by 1900, harvesting salmon from the river. The canneries closed by the 1930's due to over-fishing.

In 1978, following a major storm, the village relocated from the mouth of the river to a new location upstream on the south side of the lagoon, with new houses constructed by the the federal HUD program.
