The Bistritsa Monastery of St. Petka is located in the Kalugerovi Livadi Locality (Vitosha Mountain), in the northwestern outskirts of the Bistritsa village, around 15 km away from the capital Sofia.
The monastery was constructed in Xth century, but was destroyed during the Ottomans in XIVth century. After the Liberation a small church was constructed here, which existed until 1951. Currently existing existing church was built in 1956.
