once upon a time there were 3 villagers from c.pudukulam went for agriculture in a bareland given by a landlord.Before they start their work,they prayed god.one of them got verriyatam(most of people believe that during this period,small amount of god's power come in to man. since the man cant tolerate it he become unstable) and fell down.Then they finished their work and went home.From that day onwards one or other way they got troubles.They asked an astrologer for their uncertain happenings.They were adviced to build a small peedam and pray the god before they do anything.They named the god as kaatu samy(god of forest) and worshipped him through out their life.
