This hall with its distinctive entryway lions, was built in 1932, largely from materials salvaged when the Crescent Arena on Spadina was demolished to make room for the building of the Broadway Bridge. The most interesting feature of the building was its ornate interior decorations that ranged from busts of famous artists, musicians, and leaders, through to a stage flanked with castle-like walls. The ceiling, eventually covered over, was designed to look like a night sky with stars. The building was used mainly for weddings, banquets, concerts and other public gatherings.
