King Talal dam

A large dam in the hills of northern Jordan, across the Zarqa River. Construction started in 1971 to reach a height of 92.5 metres. By 1988, further construction to raise the height to 106 meters was completed. The dam is named after King Talal of Jordan. The main purpose of the dam is to store winter rains and treated wastewater for irrigation in the Jordan Valley. (modified Wikipedia extract)
