PARKDALE, a small village of the Great Northern Railway in section 3, Tumuli, was platted in 1876 as Hazel Dell, which was changed to the present name by an act of the state legislature, February 7, 1878. Its post office operated during three periods from 1877 to 1893 at a site in section 4, with a mill, a store, and a school. A Great Northern Railway station of this name was several miles north in section 19 of Dane Prairie Township.
