The John Erik Jonsson Central Library is the Main Library of the Dallas Public Library system. Designed in modernist architectural style, the structure was built in 1998 to replace the Old Dallas Central Library.
It was named for John Erik Jonsson, former Dallas mayor and one of the founders of Texas Instruments. Jonsson led the ten-year drive to raise private funds that allowed for the construction of a state-of-the-art main library.
