If you study Physics - you will be in here all the time. Most people are either taking a short cut through to the Colville, or attending a lecture in Room K3.25 - the Uni's largest lecture theatre. (we will come to the "K" later...)
Built in 1971, this is one of Strathclyde's old concrete buildings that hides its years well - it still looks as fresh as the day it went up; unlike some of the other crumbling structures built next door. For its size though the two lifts at either corner is a bit stingy - interestingly one of them used to be a good shortcut down to Richmond Street before a top secret lab got established on Level 1 and the corridor was then out of bounds.
So - back to the "K" - this is another bizarre exponent of where the Strathclyde campus designers got their building idenification codes from (although not nearly as bizarre as why the Graham Hills Building is called "P"). Logic says that this building should be called "A" for Anderson - but instead it is "K". The reason? This is predominantly the Physics building and what do physicists measure temperature in - Degrees KELVIN of course. Hence the "K". Simples!
