Originally started in 1911 as a 5-story building, after the third collapse in spring 1913, the architect N. D. Strokov was arrested and sentenced to jail.
In the years 1923-1925 two more floors were added to the five-story building by engineers VD Tsvetaeva and D. Kogan. And in 1925, Professor AF Loleytom designed the hexagonal tower with battlements. Originally in the tower there was a clock.
In 1925 the building became Mosselprom - Food Trust of the Moscow Council of National Economy. It is worth noting that the historical and cultural value is not the building itself, but the panels, which were a project of artists Rodchenko and Stepanova, VF, and result in the house bearing the advertising slogan, "Nowhere except in Mosselprome", written Vladimir Mayakovsky.
In the 1930s all the advertising was erased from the walls of the house, and by 1937 the building had became residences.
In the years 1964-1969 in apartment #11 in this house lived a well-known philologist, Vladimir Vinogradov. In 1997, architect E. Ovsyannikova recreated appearance of the building.
