Surya Dam is one of the life line for Dahanu Taluka as well near by Palghar Taluka, where water is provided by canal system to the near by villages. It is also boon to the coastal areas which were short of water mostly during summer. Recently the water from this dam is also been provided to Virar & vasai which are part of Thane district.
