  • Except Boisar and a section of area near Dahanu Station - rest of the entire Dahanu Taluka is restricted zone (ecologically fragile area) under notification dated 20th June 1991 issued by Department of Environment, Forests and Wildlife of MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT AND FORESTS (Government of India). The main text of the notification are as follows: In exercise of powers conferred by clause (v) of sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, the Central Government, in consultation with the Government of Maharashtra, after considering the need for protecting the ecologically sensitive Dahanu Taluka, and to ensure that the development activities are consistent with principles of environmental protection and conservation, hereby declare Dahanu Taluka, District Thane (Maharashtra) as an ecologically fragile area and to impose restrictions on the setting up of industries which have detrimental effect on the environment.
  • Govt. of India and Govt. of Maharashtra is destroying this beautiful place.Govt. is the biggest culprit for the ecological loss occurring in this area. Forest Dept. is sleeping here since ages. Shamelessly taking salary every month. Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation is another corrupt Govt. department which is allowing illegal industries which are polluting heavily. Reliance thermal power station is already destroyed Orchards. Tarapur Atomic Power Station has destroyed the marine life. Mere declaring the area as Ecological Fragile does not fulfill the purpose. It requires honesty and willpower, which our Govt. do not have. God save this beautiful place.
