It is an old village of more than 1000 population in Dhubri district. It has a LP School and a Girls' High School. A seminary located at the village doba is coming up (a religious school, especially for girls edication). The village has both Muslim amd Hindu Graveyard (Kabarstan and Sashanghat, respectively). A small thakur temple at the bank of Deepo is there.
