This was the original Mofussil Bus Station when Coimbatore was a town. When the town grew big into a City there was an exponential growth of bus traffic. South bound traffic was then spun off to a new Ukkadam Station and East bound traffic to Singanallur Station. For North bound traffic, a new Station is being built in Saibaba Colony. What is left will be traffic bound for north east like Tirupur, Erode, Salem and Chennai. This Station is maintained by the City Municipal Corporation.
