Agadir Earthquake of 1960:
This is the site of a hilltop observation area overlooking the port of Agadir. At 11:41 PM, on February, 29 1960, the town was shaken by a magnitude 5.7 earthquake where tens of thousands of people perished, buried under the rubble of ancient masonry buildings.
