Founder & and first Principal Rev. H.J Schaffter M.A (1878 - 1896)
1818 Rev James Hough M.A Started an English School at Courttallam (Azad Rd) road, Tirunelveli.
1822 Rev James Hutchinson M.A. Shifted the school to Palayamkottai.
1823 The school wast restarted in its original place by the efforts of Rev. C.T.E Rehnius and Thirumanam Sulochana Mudaliar.
1865 Became Anglo Vernacular School, Highe school sections started. Named C.M.S high school
1878 Rev. H,J Schaffter M.A. first Principal

  • iam sankar , i finished my school in schaffter from the period 1997 to 2001 ,its one of most beautiful period in my life ,Mr.Lawnce sir he is my english teacher ( 1999-2000) he change my english written skills and also change my behaviour then Mr.Selvam sir he is my 10th standard class teacher 2000-2001,. he is the role model bcz he take care about students personal life to manage studies and he teach helping skills. Each and every person school studies is the base of the higher studies its true one i feel it. now iam in mechanical engg . I Thank to my School days class statt Mr.selvam ,Mr.Lawnce, Mr.Selvaraj,,,, once again i salute your teaching sevice sir .
