Sannati-Kanaganahalli Stupa

Kanaganahalli is about 3 km east of Sannati, on the left bank of river Bhima in Chitapur taluk of Gulbarga District in Karnataka. This is an important Buddhist site; place where ruins of an ancient Mahastupa is found. At this site are two important artifacts; 1. Samrat Ashoka's rock edict and 2. a rare sculpture which identifies Samrat Ashoka by image and text. The Buddhist site about 2.5 km from Chandrala Parameshwari temple of Sannati. Nalwar is the nearest Railway station about 19 km from Kanaganahalli.
