A town that has lived through ages, and still remains as one of the junction for tourism attractions in Tamil Nadu. Chengalpat brances to Kanchipuram, Mammallapuram, Thirukalukundram, and Vedanthaangal. From Chengalpat, you can reach to any of the above mentioned tourism places in a bus or train. There is frequent conveyance of public transport. A wonderful lake called Paalar welcomes you when you enter the town. After the establishment of Mahindra City (IT Park), Chengalpattu has been marked as an important place. The price of lands have started to get higher. In years to come, Chengalpat will develop more and more. A wonderful town indeed!!!
  • sathith (guest)
it is a nice place to enjoy in lake
  • PADMAN (guest)
YES THIS TOWN IS VERY NICE PLACE, BUT THERE IS NO DEVELOPMENT IN PAST 30 YEARS EXCEPT THE ELECTRIC TRAINS. AND BECAUSE OF BY PASS ROAD THE BUS FLOW IS ALMOST STOPPED. THE ORDINARY BUS ONLY FLY THRU THIS TOWN. BEFORE THE DISTRICT HEAD OFFICE IS IN THIS TOWN. EVEN THIS TOWN IS CENTER IF THIS DISTRICT THE DISTRICT CAPITAL WAS TRANSFERED TO KANCHEPURAM, BECAUSE OF POLITICS. THE NAME CHENGELPUTTU DISTRICT ALSO CHANGED DUE TO POLITICS. WHAT ELSE IN THIS TOWN. THE TOWN WAS WORSTLY MAINTAINED BY THE MUNICIPALITY, EVEN IN THE BIGGEST FESTIVEL OF THE TOWN DASARA ALSO. NO ONE ANNOT MEET THE MUNICIPAL COMMISIONER DUE TO THE GOOD POLITIC PEOPLE. THERE IS NO EMPLOYMENT IN THIS TOWN . EVERY ONE MUST GO OUT SIDE THE TOWN FOR EMPLOYMENT, IN THIS WAY ONLY IT IS A GOOD RESIDENTIAL TOWN. LONG LIVE CHENGELPATTU VASIGAL.

Hi, I love chengalpattu, because i born and brought up there. I am working in giant IT company and now currently in USA today however i love my native very much because it gave me a excellent education, friends and enjoyment. My parents live in chengalpattu now. I thought of buying a plot in my native, but now the price are gone high due to mahindra city. I remember my childhood days now..when there was a heavy rain, i used to go to lake kolava, and try to catch fish using a small towell and learned my swimming in that lake and once went with a fisherman on "kattumaram" which i never forget in my life. In my school days, i used to go with friends and play cricket and still remember, how we struggled to buy a keeping gloves (by cutting a 1kg of resisters metal connectors for Rs.2/-) and that glove cost about Rs:75/- during year 1992, think of how many Kgs we cut? Those who try to find who is this guy ? i will clue...I studied in st.josephs and stayed in street "Periyamaniyakara Street" contact me at mdevarajan@india.com I would like to salute my native, teachers (Especially Aarogyameri-st josephs) and friends (Balaji, Prabhu, kutti, suresh, prasad, raghu, vadivel, ashok, gopi) etc... Very eagar to see my native again and hopefully will return to india soon during Jan' 2008. Till then enjoy our native and post many comments Wish you all a very good luck guys :)

This Sakthi. I love chengalpattu, i was born and brought up there only. It is an excellent place to live, for education even none of the cities can able to compete with chengalpattu
  • Vignesh (guest)
Chengalpet can also be termed as Chennai02 as you get all the facilities that are available in chennai and moreover the cost of living us very low when compared to chennai. Only piece of advice is that the government should allot more funds to improve the infrastructure of the town as most of the people living her are engineers , doctors etc.
