From www.cityoftyler.org/Default.aspx?tabid=590 --> "The Tyler Municipal Rose Garden is a 14-acre park, making it the nation's largest rose garden. The garden is full of breath-taking beauty, especially in the spring and again in mid-October when the Rose Garden is in full bloom. There are over 38,000 rose bushes of at least 500 different varieties, from tall grafted rose trees to miniature roses no larger than a dime."

Also here: the Tyler Civic Theater, the Rogers Children's Theater, and the Rose Garden Center building, including the impressive Tyler Rose Museum and Gift Shop, which chronicles Tyler's famed annual Rose Festival (see www.tylerrosefestival.com)

The Rose Festival has the distinction of not naming a single non-white person to any position within the organization in its entire history. Ot should be noted that the Municipal Rose Garden is built on the site of the former Ku Klux Klan headquarters.
