This was opened as Park and Shop in 1959, later renaming to Andronico's Park and Shop in the mid-1980s and ultimately becoming Andronico's Community Markets. In early 2017, it closed temporarily to be converted to Safeway systems as part of a buyout of the company. Zoning rules initially prevented the rename of the store to "Safeway Community Markets" (as other Andronico's were), but Safeway reverted its plans and now has multiple Andronico's in the Bay Area.
