571-foot, 42-story International-style office building completed in 1971. Designed by Emery Roth & Sons, it is clad in a curtain wall of dark-tinted glass and dark-grey metal. Along 3rd Avenue the 6-story base has nine bays, each with four windows, which are divided by thin metal mullions that slightly project, giving the piers a recessed appearance. The ground floor has plate-glass storefronts slightly recessed behind the piers. The main entrance is in the center bay.

Above the base, the main shaft of the tower rises vertically to the roof line, seven bays wide on the east and west sides. There are mechanical floors with metal vents in place of windows at the 14th, 30th, and top floors. The base has four bays on the north and south facades, with the set-back tower spanning three bays on its north and south sides. The west facade is no setbacks, with the tower rising vertically from the ground to the roof. There is a plaza behind the tower on 40th Street. The ground floor is occupied by Shake Shack, Blink Fitness, Just Salad, and FedEx Office, with freight entrances at the western two bays on 39th Street.
