The former McKeesport Connecting Railroad roundhouse was built circa 1905. It is now abandoned and sits on industrial park property. Despite the building's dilapidated condition, the industrial park developer (RIDC Growth Fund) agreed with federal and state historic preservation agencies to preserve the structure. As of August 2010, United States Green Energy Corporation was considering using the building for solar panel manufacturing.
