One of the few sandy beaches on Bonaire and famed for its powder-fine pink sand, Pink Beach at one time offered one of the few large rock-free water entrances on the island. After the area was hit hard, like the rest of Leeward Bonaire, by Hurricane Lenny's waves, much of the sand was scoured out, leaving a somewhat rocky shoreline now exposed in some locations at the waters edge.

The loss of the sand from the shoreline was not without its benefits however, as much of the sand was deposited just offshore. Pink Beach now offers one of the few shallow water sand flats on the island, and as a result large bonefish, tarpon, turtles and rays are frequently seen here. Depth 25-90 feet.
