Vela Parambu (Rishinaradamangalam and Kannambra Desam)

Rishinaradamangalam and Kannambra Desam Vela Parambu where the famous Kannambra Vela is celeberated every year in the month of May. Both desams light tower will be build in both sides of the Premise. Thousands of People use to participate in the festival which include people from all part of Kerala. Festival Include Panchavadyam, Thayambaka, Melam, Light Towers, More than 15 elephants and in the end a glorious fireworks.

  • This is one of the great festival which thousands used to throng. One of the most glorious celebration. In the younger days we used to spend day and night on the velaparambu and the memories are still very much alive though I never had the opportunity to see this celebration since last 25 years.
