The guest and hunting lodge at William K. Vanderbilt's Deepdale estate was built c.1915. Even after Vanderbilt had moved to Eagle's Nest, he used the lodge when he would play golf at Deepdale. In the 1930's the New York State Police bought and used the large stone building as barracks and a branch of the headquarters of Troop L, Babylon. The lodge was torn down in 1967 during the first expansion of the Northern State Parkway.
